Terms and Conditions

Plain English, same as everything else.

These terms cover what you are buying from us, what we promise, and what to do if something is wrong. If anything here is unclear, email us and we will explain it properly.

Ezefone is a service provided by Martin Hamp, trading as CallformLabs, 7 High Street, Kington, HR5 3AX, United Kingdom. You can reach us at info@ezefone.co.uk, and we read every email ourselves.

What you are buying

A one-time payment. Never a subscription, and we have no plans to make it one — you pay once and the plan is yours.

These are the prices, whoever is paying and wherever you buy. Buying it for somebody else costs the same, and has a section of its own below.

Free — £0

Two contacts on the home screen, Call for Help, and a Medical ID record with a printable card. Free for as long as you like.

Standard — £7.99

Everything in Free, plus unlimited contacts, contact import, the daily check-in to one person, the Carer PIN, and the printables and guide.

Family — £34.99

Everything in Standard, plus up to five family helpers with their own sign-ins, remote management of contacts and Medical ID, and alerts that keep escalating until somebody answers. The account holder is asked once, on their phone, whether one helper may choose who else helps. One household, one purchase.

There are no recurring charges, no renewal, and nothing to cancel later. Payments are handled by Stripe; we never see your card details.

Buying Ezefone for someone else

Often, the person buying Ezefone is buying it for a parent. You pay, and we set up an account in the name and email address you give us for them.

The prices are the same as buying it for yourself: Standard is £7.99 and Family is £34.99. Both are a one-time payment, with nothing recurring and nothing to cancel.

The plan attaches to their account, not yours. Once it is set up, it is theirs — they sign in, and it stays with them, even if you close your own account. If you buy the Family plan, you and up to four others can be helpers on it, each with your own sign-in. When they first use it, they are asked once on their phone whether you may choose who else helps. If they agree, you can add, change and remove helpers yourself. They can still remove anybody, including you, and can take that permission back at any time.

You will need to install the free Ezefone app on their phone. The plan is already on the account when they first sign in.

Refunds. The 14 days below are yours, because you are the one who paid. Email info@ezefone.co.uk within 14 days of purchase and we will refund you in full, to the card you paid with. If the plan has already been set up on their account, it stays there. We will not take a plan back off somebody who is relying on it.

Your plan on the iPhone and Android apps

Ezefone is coming to the App Store and Google Play. Whatever plan you have bought carries over to the apps at no extra cost. You will not be asked to buy anything twice.

Refunds and cancellation

You have 14 days from the date of purchase to change your mind. Email info@ezefone.co.uk within those 14 days and we will refund you in full — no questions asked, and no need to explain yourself.

We honour this whether or not you have already used the app. Refunds go back to the card you paid with, and usually take a few working days to appear.

What Ezefone can and cannot do

This matters more than anything else on this page, so it is in plain words.

  • •Call for Help dials a contact you chose. It is not an emergency service, it is not monitored by anyone, and it does not replace calling 999 or a monitored personal alarm.
  • •The daily check-in reports one thing: that the phone has not been opened. It cannot tell anyone whether a person is unwell. It depends on the phone being charged and in signal, and on our email arriving.
  • •Escalation emails on the Family plan can be delayed or filtered into spam. They are a prompt to pick up the phone, not a guarantee that somebody has been told.

Ezefone is a help, not a safety net. Please keep the real safety nets in place.

Our service to you

We provide Ezefone with reasonable care and skill. Like any service of this kind it may occasionally be unavailable or delayed. It is not a substitute for the emergency services, or for proper care arrangements where those are needed.

If something goes wrong

Please tell us first. Email info@ezefone.co.uk — most things are quicker and easier to put right directly, and we would much rather hear about it than not.

If it concerns your personal information and we cannot resolve it between us, you have the right to complain to the UK regulator, the Information Commissioner’s Office, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any dispute will be dealt with by the courts of England and Wales.
